About the Music & Movement Festival
Our mission is to build and unify communities through dance, art, and live music in the Twin Cities.

Kevin Johnson — A Legacy of Dance & Community
In 2004, Kevin Johnson brought top national dance instructors to the Twin Cities to formally introduce Chicago-style eight-count steppin’ to Minnesota. What began as a passion for dance grew into the Twin Cities Steppers Association (TCSA) — a nonprofit organization recognized nationally for Kevin’s expertise and dedication to the art of stepping.
Kevin’s work earned coverage in Inside Steppin’ Magazine, invitations to judge contests across the Midwest, and a 2008 Promoter of the Year award from the National Promoters Gala and Entertainment Expo. He has shared the art of Chicago-style stepping on the Michael Baisden Show and at events from Milwaukee to Huntsville.
The Twin Cities Music & Movement Festival was born from this same vision — to bring people together through rhythm, movement, and community celebration.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
